Lecture on sustainable fashion at New York University Shanghai

Fashion industry is the second largest polluting industry in the world; However, the issues regarding sustainability in this field is much less discussed in comparison with other polluting industries such as energy and chemical. To increase the awareness of the future designers and young talents, our head of advisory service, Lin Zhang, was invited to give guest lecture on sustainability in fashion industry at NYU Shanghai.

In the lecture, Lin presented The Natural Step’s fundamental concepts of sustainability and brought up interactive exercises and group works to engage with students. She also introduced real cases that TNS was working with in China and abroad, showcased the current trends and challenges of the fashion industry. We were happy to see students got interested, inspired and sometimes shocked during the lecture. We hope the lecture will bring them a new angle to view fashion industry and apply these knowledges to their future study and career.
